LAST SEASONS RECORD:104-58

OUT: Charlie Valentin, Stuart Irwin, Theodore Joyner, Alex Trajano, Cliff Buckley, Bernard Fonda

IN: Antonio Hitchcock, Bronson Mann, Marvin Villarreal, Benny Cruz

JGARRONS PREVIEW: The Padres are trying to maintain fiscal responsibility for another season. It always helps being in a division where the competition seems outmatched by even the Padres Family Picnic T-Ball teams (everyone bats, everyone scores). That being said, the Padres wanted to improve upon their League Championship series loss last year by improving their pitching and defense. We saw some talent on the open market but something told the organization to stay out of a bidding war that would result in them paying overpriced aging veterans far beyond their worth. Starting pitcher Bronson Mann was obtained in a trade as was the new left side of the infield Marvin Villareal and Benny Cruz. These two hitters fit the Padre mold and should rack up high RBI totals considering who will be hitting ahead of them. San Diego was able to hold onto one of its top prospects, Antonio Hitchcock, who will get the nod at 2b this year and has the green light to steal whenever he wants. Besides those changes the Padres look about the same this year, losing only long time shortstop and the all time league leader in triples Stuart Irwin (who has yet to sign with another franchise. A final note of appreciation towards 39 year-old closer Skeeter Brown who will look to add to his all time save total for one final season.

PREVIEW: Jgarron and his Padres own this division with 9 titles. The only thing missing is a World Series Trophy. And I'm sure he will go into the offseason looking to add the magic piece or two. First he let Valentin and Irwin go to free agency and realeased Joyner. He traded away a trio of players in Trajano ,Buckley and Fonda. To replace the departed, jgarron signed free agent Antonio "Psycho" Hitchcock. Then he traded for Mann, Villarreal and Cruz. It will be another division title for San Diego. And I think this team will win it all. PREDICTION:98-64

LAST SEASONS RECORD:78-84

OUT:   Gil Leskanic, Dave Sheldon, Howie Goldberg, Bronson Mann, Alex Buchanan, Marlon Andrews

IN: Manuel Javier, Hulk Kingland, Alex Tabaka, Octavio Torres, Alex Trajano, Dustin Ewing

PREVIEW: 2steper was well on his way rebuilding this team. Then he really stepped in it. He was caught sending pictures of his Gluteus Maximus to several women accross the country. He sold the team to axtell for his Vintage Playboy collection and a subscription to Big Uns Magazine. After the stain of the scandal died down Axtell went into the season looking to turn this team into a winner. He first let Leskanic , Sheldon and Goldberg go to free agency. Then he traded away Mann, Buchanan and Andrews. To fill in the gaps he Claimed Javier off the Wire and signed free agents Hulk "I pick things up and put them down" Kingland, Alex Tabaka and Octavio Torres. Axtell brings in a spectacular personal record . so he knows how to play this game. If not now , look for this team to contend. My guess ...they will contend for a Wild Card.PREDICTION:90-72

LAST SEASONS RECORD:64-98

OUT: Trent Craddock, Harry Cabrera, Ryan Johnston, Einar Rodriguez, Jerome Brooks

IN: Juan Mendoza

PREVIEW: Toothdoc's 8th season finished like all the others. 50-60 wins and no playoffs. The losing in Seattle is starting to get old but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In this off season he let Craddock and Cabrera go to free agency. Then released Johnston, Rodriguez and Brooks. To replace the extracted players .Toothdoc picked up Mendoza in the R-5 draft. Most of the players gone are late season call ups during roster expansion. Tooth has some talent in AAA/AA he may call up later .For example: Ryan Hernandez. This team is young and still debeloping. Give them some time to develop and they may shock the world. PREDICTION:81-81

LAST SEASONS RECORD:51-111

OUT: Al Benitez, Gary Cheney, Vic Guillen, Eduardo Maduro, Dan Bolton, Andres Guerrero, Al Houck, George Downing, T.J. Ford

IN:  Tony Mercado, Deivi Calderon, Yuniesky Pujols, Marlon Andrews

PREVIEW: Babdor and his Diamondbacks are in the sixth year of a rebuild. Pretty soon they may be a very good team. This off-season he let Benitez, Cheney, Guillen, Maduro and Bolton go to free agency. Then he released Guerrero, Houck, Downing and Ford. To fill dem holes babdor signed free agents Mercado ,Calderon and Pujols. Finally he traded for Andrews. The off-season doesn't tell the whole story. At last years roster expansions babdor called up 2 future superstars Vince Garcia, Mark Pence . They will improve this team greatly. But it may take a few more years until more talent is brought up before this team takes off. For now at least they will be out of the cellar. PREDICTION: 75-87
