LAST YEARS PREDICTION:81-81 Now that this team is to Guerilla's liking. We will see if they can win. My Magic 8-ball just started smoking and couldn't decide. So I broke out a new set of Chicken Bones .And they said "more of the same".

PREVIEW: The Chicken Bones Suck!! Guerillazen's Reds went out and punched my prediction in the Chops!! They won this division and had the #2 seed in the playoffs but ran into the Champs in the NLCS. In the offseason he let a bunch of guys head to free agency then released Johnson and Phillips. Then with a ton of holes to fill ....Guerilla signed several free agents and promoted Corbin. Finally he traded for Harden, who should help his rotation. This team has 131 million in salaries. And last year they played like it. This season it's the same buch of money hogs with a few role players added in. I'm going back to the Magic 8-Ball. It says "Good times ahead". PREDICTION:86-76

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:95-67 The Cubbies definatly tweaked this roster. Time will tell if it works. They will battle for the Division and My Magic 8-Ball says "Decidedly So".
OUT: Pete Carpenter , Chad Kirk , Angel Delgado , Tom Sosa , Derek Rodney
IN: Wayne Olshan , Brett Rivers , Peter Purcell
PREVIEW: The Cubs did battle but came up short by 8 games. Not sure if it was injuries but it definatly was a down year. In the offseason opistrat let Carpenter and Kirk go to free agency but resigned Christian Miyakazi . Then he released Delgado and Sosa and traded Rodney to Rochester. Opistrat signed free agents Olshan and Rivers and pulled off a trade for Purcell. The Cubs added Osvaldo Izturis to the team last year .And with the addition of Rochester's Purcell and Olshan, the rotation got stronger. This team will battle for the division and win it. PREDICTION:90-72

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:95-67 Rooskie is pretty much stuck with what he's got unless he trades away some salary. But hey it could be worse. He could have a high salary team that sucked. Look for this team to battle for the division.

IN: Rafael Jimenez , Pete Carpenter , Pat Roth , Harvey Sullivan
PREVIEW: Rooskies Injuns took a big step backwards from the previous season. They finished 20 games below last years team. So in the offseason Rooskie let Jeffcoat, Collins,Arias, Carrasco and Fernandez head to free agency and released Alfonseca . Then he signed free agents Jimenez,Carpenter and Roth and picked up Sullivan in the R-5 draft. Rooskie shed 16 million in salary and still has 5 million under the cap. He gave up some talent but this team still has the players to keep winning. PREDICTION:87-75

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:92-70 I like this team .With the 2 players added and last years late season callup(Coy) this team makes it a 3-way battle for the Division.

IN: Alfonso Machado , Max Oliver , Carson Barry , Danny Spencer , Paul Shannon , Brad Price , Geoff Coombs , Marty Wulf
PREVIEW: I believe simhead bailed on this team last season. They finished way below my prediction . Kinda humbles a guy but I can't control owners or injuries. After it was observed that Sim failed to participate in pre-season activities . He was replaced by Patrickm. After a late start Patrick lost Roberts, Ennis, Martin, Henry and Baker to free agency. He did resign Hipolito Cueto to a long term contract extension.To plug the holes patrick signed free agents Machado, Oliver, Barry, Spencer, Shannon and picked up Price and Coombs in the R-5. Finally he traded for Wulf. With a replacement owner after S/T started, this team has the odds stacked against them. But they still have some decent talent. My guess is they will finish about .500. PREDICTION:81-81
