#1

Nigel Kirk

Dodgers

Born: Tempe, AZ
Position(s): CF

SIGNING BONUS:4,000,000

This years overall first pick was actually my #4. Thats only because I was not looking for a CF'er. He has great Range and Speed to play CF but his Glove is a tad weak for that position. And because he is a lefty he will not be able to play second. That is another reason he fell to #4 on my board. Nigel "Captain" Kirk is going to be a very good hitter with monster Splits and Eye.Throw in good Power and Contact and you have a 300+ hitter with 20-30 homers. This guy could br a Silver Slugger at CF or a Gold Glover in Left.
#2

Mikey Weinhardt
San Francisco
Giants
Age: 18B/T: R/R
Born: Medford, WI
Position(s): 2B

SIGNING BONUS:5,318,000

Mikey " He Likes It" Weinhardt held out for more cash and Wylie came up with the extra 1,500,000. Mikey likes that!! What I like about this kid, is that he will be a great CF'er. He has all the defensive numbers to play CF and he will also be a Silver Slugger.Wylie Likes.....Wylie likes alot!!!

WYLIE'S REVIEW: here's my view on my top 5 picks. I'd like to hear your opinion as well. #1 - Mikey Weinhardt - if Mikey comes close to his projections, the Giants will have a future all star at 2B. If not, he's a major bust after getting a bonus of $5mm plus.#2 - Sergio Oswalt - oswalt projects as a CFer with very good defense and excellent plate discipline #3 - Happy Lemon - Lemon has moderate projections in just about every category. The Giants will be happy if he's not a lemon.#4 - Dave Price - Price is another player with moderate ratings in most categories. The Giants are hoping he turns iinto a servicable MLer #5 - Nicholas Fox - Fox has ML power, but nothing else stands out about him...a ML pinch hittger at best
#3

Matt Sandberg

Matt "Kicking" Sandberg was one of the "Unknown not scouted well enough". To bad , this kid will be a good one. With max Control and killer Splits it seems unfair that he also has 3 good pitches. And with max Makeup and good Health he should reach projections. This kid will be kicking it in the minors for 4 years then he will take this world by storm. Kicking sand in our face.

Bouboncask's review: The first item of business for forth year owner Bourboncask has been to draft ML caliber pitching.Since taking over the team in season 10, it's been first round pitching or bust. This year was no different. With the 3rd pick the Orioles take Matt Sandberg in this years draft. Was it the makeup of this young man, the pin point location of his pitches, or the devistating 12 to 6 hook he can drop on right handers in any count that made team ownership wide eyed.... The answer was yes. Yes to all three. Baltimore hopes Sandberg can progress threw the minors quickly to help out a team that hasn't had a winning season since season 5.With hitters soon entering there prime behind a young future home run champ in Jesus Vizcaino , things may finally start looking up for this franchise, and very soon.

Let me tell you about a man named Shawn "Brady" Bunch who has 4 good pitches of his own. Throw in great splits and control and thats the way he became Brady Bunch. With good make-up and patience he will reach his projections. His only down fall will be his stamina, which will make him a #5 or LongA relief Pitcher. I did not see him in my draft bunch. Wish I did!!
#5

Benjamin Griffiths
Arizona
Diamondbacks
Age: 22B/T: R/R
Born: Springfield, MO
Position(s): P (none)

SIGNING BONUS:5,591,000

Benjamin "Don't call me Melanie" Griffiths was another Unknown on my scout list.RATS! this kid has killer pitching projections. If he can reach them he will be worth the extra 2 million he got after holding out.But his advanced age and Health may make that difficult. Not Impossible tho. Still he is almost Major League ready now.
#6

Hank Henderson
Detroit
Tigers
Age: 19B/T: R/R
Born: South Hill, VA
Position(s): P (SP1)

SIGNING BONUS:3,540,000

Hank "Harry" Henderson will make a very nice Rotation pitcher. He will dominate with great Control and Splits.Good Make-up ,Patience and Health will assure his projections are met. I had him listed as #2 on my board.
#7

Lou Linden
Tampa Bay
Rays
Age: 18B/T: S/R
Born: Monroeville, AL
Position(s): P (SP2)
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:3,440,000

Lou " dont call me Hal" Linden will turn into a good #1 starting pitcher. With stellar Control and Stamina will inssure a few complete games. He only has 3 pitches which will help him if he's paired with a Pitch calling impaired Catcher. His good Health , Patience and Make-up should help him reach projections. Finally...he can hit a little . Nice combo!!

#8

Clay Porter
Washington D.C.
Nationals
Age: 18B/T: R/R
Born: Peculiar, MO
Position(s): P (SP1)
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:4,690,000

Everybody wants pitching. And Clay "Pigeon" Porter is the next one chosen. He held out for extra money and finally signed a couple hours ago. He could turn out to be a solid everyday rotation guy. With 4 Pitches above 63, good Splits and Control he will not embarass himself. His average Makeup may force a 5th season in the minors.Pull!!!
#9

Branch Boyle
Texas
Rangers
Age: 18B/T: R/R
Born: Roma, TX
Position(s): P (SP1)
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:3,250,000

I actually had Branch " Davidian" Boyle as my #1 prospect. I preferred him because of  his good Control and RH split. Pair That with a pitch at 100 and another at 85 and throw in max Make-up and Health.Thats why he jump to the top on my draft board. His lack of patience and stamina may hurt a tad.He may be our salvation in Texas??

#10

Tony Lowry
Chicago
White Sox
Age: 20B/T: R/R
Born: Somerville, MA
Position(s): 2B
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:3,160,000

When I first saw Tony Lowry on my prospect list I started to drool. He has some of the best CF defensive numbers ever. With great Hitting and Speed projections added to the mix .Well quite frankly.... I was interested. Then I saw his low Make-up and Health projections and  determined he was to risky for my blood. kgrffth be a gambling man!!

#11

Barry Henley
Kansas City
Royals
Age: 22B/T: L/R
Born: Trail, BC
Position(s): 3B
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:3,070,000

Barry "Bye Bye" Henley could be a good one. With a great glove at 3rd combined with a Big Bat you will have a Superstar. But at age 22 and low Health it may be a tough climb. His max make-up should help him tho. I didn't see this guy and I probably wouldn't take the gamble. But it may work for TenaciousTYT.
#12

Julio Castro
Toronto
Blue Jays
Age: 18B/T: R/R
Born: Bellville, OH
Position(s): LF
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:2,970,000 S/T invite

My scouts never saw this kid. Too bad!! Julio Castro will make a very good LF'er/1stbaseman.He has good numbers defensivly for LF /1st and has nice Speed .But it's his Hitting that will define him.Look for him as a MVP or Home run derby champ one day.

#13

Neal DeJean
Pittsburgh
Pirates
Age: 22B/T: L/L
Born: Genoa, IL
Position(s): P (SP2)
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:2,880,000

Neal "Before" DeJean should make opposing hitters bow to his greatness. This lefty has all the tools to be a strong rotation pitcher.Even though he has great Health and Make-up. Being already 22 years old it may be hard to reach his full potential. I had him at #7 on my board.

Lefty32's Preview: With the lucky #13 pick Pittsburgh selected left-handed SP Neal De Jean who was the #1 prospect on the Pirates' board going into the draft.Happy to have him in the pipeline. He's the first top prospect I've ever drafted with a pick that low. Kinda like winning the lottery!
#14

Shea Cross
Colorado
Rockies
Age: 19B/T: S/R
Born: Fayetteville, AR
Position(s): P (P)
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:2,790,000

I never saw Shae "ol Rugged" Cross either. He will make a solid rotation pitcher in Colorado. He has great Control and good Splits. With max Health and good Makeup he should reach projections. If traded from Colorado he may even be a All-Star. Not easy pitching in the launching pad called ....Coors Field.
#15

Sean Muratore
Cleveland
Indians
Age: 19B/T: L/L
Born: Chicago Heights, IL
Position(s): LF
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:2,690,000

Again my scouts let me down. I wasn't able to see Sean Muratore and thats a shame. He will make pitchers tremble with his Power and Speed. With his strong Arm and Accuracy he will throw many a player out at Home. His great Health and Makeup should assure him to reach projections.
#16

Joe Voigt
Anaheim
Angels
Age: 20B/T: R/R
Born: Coal Township, PA
Position(s): C
View Hardball Dynasty Profile

SIGNING BONUS:2,600,000

This is the first Catcher taken in the draft. Joe "Wheres the h" Voigt will make a H of a catcher. Not only will he throw out thieving baserunners . He will handle any pitching staff with his Max Pitch calling. Add great Power and decent Hitting numbers. And you have the making of one H of a draft pick. Why the H didn't my scouts see him??
