N L NORTH SEASON 14 PREVIEW

LAST YEARS RECORD:91-71

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:86-76  The Chicken Bones Suck!! Guerillazen's Reds went out and punched my prediction in the Chops!! They won this division and had the #2 seed in the playoffs but ran into the Champs in the NLCS.This team has 131 million in salaries. And last year they played like it. This season it's the same buch of money hogs with a few role players added in. I'm going back to the Magic 8-Ball. It says "Good times ahead".

OUT: Lariel Nunez , Placido Ortiz , Doug Schulte , Dude Colbrunn , Kip Peterson , Joaquin Ordaz

IN: Harry Silva , Bert Connelly , Chris Jackson , Diego Beltran , Jude Kirkland , Brutus Washington , Alex Buchanan

PREVIEW:  It was good times for the Reds. They won the division then got past the Virginians in the first round. The party was over in the second round when the Reds lost to the Champs in 4 games. It seems the heartbreak was to much for Guerrillazen. He sold the team in the offseason to Rookie Owner Villian30. It was rumored that Guerrilla sold the team for 2 Costa Concordia Cruise tickets and a pair of Snorkels. In the offseason Villian let Nunez,Ortiz,Schulte,Colbrunn,Peterson and Ordaz go to free agency. He did re-sign Santos Aguilar,  Archie Charleston and Paulie Perez. With a ton of holes in the lineup Villian signed free agents Silva,Connelly,Jackson,Beltran,Kirkland,Washington and Buchanan. The Reds have lowered their overall payroll by 15 million and they lost a  bunch of talent. The replacements are old and on their last legs. This team will not be in the post season this year. PREDICTION:81-81

LAST YEARS RECORD:90-72

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:81-81  I believe simhead bailed on this team last season. They finished way below my prediction . Kinda humbles a guy but I can't control owners or injuries. After it was observed that Sim failed to participate in pre-season activities . He was replaced by Patrickm. With a replacement owner after S/T started, this team has the odds stacked against them. But they still have some decent talent. My guess is they will finish about .500.

OUT: Andy Wilkins , Paul Shannon , Jose Arias , Tito Santangelo , Rickey Shelby , Max Oliver , Gil Guiel

IN: Rafael Aparicio , Jimmie Kennedy , Patrick Riley

PREVIEW: Patrickkm and his Tigers far exceeded my expectations by picking up solid players last season.Patrickkm made some early trades for  Freddy Downs , Randy May , Andre Lincoln and Rafael Valentin . And with some late season trades Patrick picked up Andy Wilkins , Buddy Bittle and Parker Lee .The trades almost won the division and put his team in the post season as a wild card. But Patricks bunch were broadsided by the Pirates in the first round, losing in 4 games. The Tigers did pickup some more trading prospects with the additions of Hank Henderson and Steve Boone. In the offseason Wilkins,Shannon,Arias Santangelo and Shelby left for free agency. Then Oliver and Guiel were dealt to other teams. Apaticio was picked up in the R-5 draft and Kennedy and Riley were brought in thru trades.Detroit has above average pitching and hitting. I feel they are ready to take the division title this season. Could do some damage in the post season. Patrickkm will be wheeling and Dealing all season long to get a Series win.PREDICTION:92-70

LAST YEARS RECORD:87-75

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:90-72  The Cubs did battle but came up short by 8 games. Not sure if it was injuries but it definatly was a down year. The Cubs added Osvaldo Izturis to the team last year .And with the addition of Rochester's Purcell and Olshan, the rotation got stronger. This team will battle for the division and win it.

OUT: Bobby Carpenter , Max James , Christian Miyakazi , Woody Rando , Cesar Tavarez , Sherman Watson , Brett Rivers , Enrique Diaz , Jolbert Veras , Louie Chang , Jimmie Kennedy , Zip Ramsey

IN: Bob Breen , Ed Locke , Germany Velandia , Lariel Rojas , Valerio Canseco , Rob Ingram , Santiago Padilla , Bennie Carr , Petey Cobb , Tony Sojo , Trever Cambridge , Max Oliver , Phillip Rushford , Alex Mahomes

PREVIEW: I really felt it was Opistrats time to shine. And his Cubbies did come close to winning this division but finished 4 games back. It looks like They traded away some M L talent around the All-Star break and picked up some very nice prospects (Pat Brantley , D'Angelo Vazquez and Juan Tejeda). So it looks like the Cubbies finished well after the trades. In the offseason Opistrat re-signed Gabby Lilly but let Carpenter,James,Miyakazi,Rando and Tavarez go to free agency. He released Watson and traded away Rivers,Diaz,Veras,Chang,Kennedy and the Zipper. With half the team gone Opistrat signed free agent Breen and promoted Locke,Velandia,Rojas and Canseco. He then picked up Ingram and Padilla in the R-5 and traded for Carr,Cobb,Sojo,Cambridge,Oliver,Rushford and Mahomes. Holy Crap!! This is a major league house cleaning. With such a complete overhall its hard to predict how they will gel. But I'll break out my trusty 8-Ball for the answer. "Reply Hazy,Try again". That wasn't much help. As I look at thr franchise rankings it looks like it will be a .500 or below year. And the pitching staff will be at the top in Walks allowed.PREDICTION:81-81

LAST YEARS RECORD:85-77

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:87-75  Rooskies Injuns took a big step backwards from the previous season. They finished 20 games below last years team.Rooskie shed 16 million in salary and still has 5 million under the cap. He gave up some talent but this team still has the players to keep winning.

OUT: Carlos Estrada , Julian Javier , Rafael Jimenez , Lonnie Bold

IN: Fred Nash , Cam Anderson

PREVIEW: Poor Rooskie, he plays in the toughest division in McCabe . The Injuns win 85 games and finished 4th in the division. But the Cleveland fans are excited on the direction of their beloved Injuns.Rooskies pitching (4.24 ERA) and fielding (.985 FPct)were just fine. The hitting could use a little improvment(.261 BA) Perhaps? In the offseason Rooskie re-signed Luther Abercrombie to another max contract and let Estrada,Javier,Jimenez and Bold head to free agency. He signed free agent Nash to complete the rotation. After Luther sucked up all the leftover cap space Rooskie was forced to transfer money from his prospect budget. He still has 5 million cap space for some players But at least he kept his HOF player. This team will be in the hunt for a wild card.88-74
