I have played Fantasy baseball for many years . And I've played in Head to Head and Rotisserie among others.But I never played in a league where you bid on players in the draft. So when Jefe left a recruiting post in Mattingly a few weeks ago ..well I thought now is as good as time as any.But It seems there are not many takers in this fantasy league.It still remains unfilled while baseball has started. So if you are interested in joining remember the words of the recently available Christie Brinkley........Are you gonna go for IT!!!

The league is hosted on Yahoo and will include an auction draft. If you're new to auction drafting, it's really a lot of fun. Auction drafts work like this:
A draft order is selected randomly. As each owners pick comes up, they nominate a player to be bid on and an opening bid amount, usually $1. Each owner can then bid on the player in question until a high bid is reached. Generally, there is a 90 second timer for each player auction. Any bid placed with less than 10 seconds left resets the draft clock back to 10 seconds. This goes on until the timer runs out without a higher bid being placed.
This leads to some exciting results. There are a lot of strategies in an auction draft, and it's really an opportunity for you to show off your fantasy baseball knowledge. The auction draft essentially levels the playing field, since the owner with the first pick isn't guaranteed to get Pujols (or Kemp or Cabrera or Tulo or Longo or whoever you think the #1 overall player should be).
