American League Divisional Play in Series

Toronto average 10 runs per game during the series and outscored the Twins 30-12. Roberto Ontiveros (DH) finishes the series with a 636 batting average.

#3 Boston Red Sox 90-72 (pat007ohmss) over #6 Houston Astros 84-78 (ajaxx88) 3-2

Boston leadoff man and second basemen Steve Star had 2 home runs in the 5th and deciding game.

National League Divisional Play in Series

#5 San Diego Padres 93-69 (jgarron ) swept #4 Cleveland Indians 73-89 (rooskie) 3-0

Bronson Mann (P) San Diego pitched 7 shutout innings in game 3 to earn the victory, had 1 hit and scored 1 run.

#6 Seattle Mariners 91-71 (lefty32) over #3 Pittsburgh Pirates 93-69 (toothdoc7) 3-2

Stewart Bell (P) Seattle Mariners won Player of the Game in games 2 and 5. In both games he pitched 8 innings of shutout ball, winning game one 1-0, and fifth and final game 4-0.

American League Divisional Championship Series

#4 Toronto Blue Jays over #1 Oakland Athletics 100-62 (jefepwnzer) 4-1
Oakland had 2 unearned runs in the 5-4 lost to Toronto in the 4th and deciding game of the series.

#2 St. Louis Cardinals 99-73 (421werd) over #3 Boston Red Sox 3-2

In the bottom of the 15th inning Lorenzo Alvarado (SS) of St. Louis lined a single to RF to score Walker Stern for the game winner.

National League Divisional Championship Series

#5 San Diego Padres over #1 Arizona Diamondbacks 109-53 (yoker70) 3-1

San Diego outscored Arizona 18-5 in the series.

#2 Florida Marlins 101-61 (AZNJ70) over #6 Seattle Mariners 3-2

Stewart Bell (P) Seattle Mariners gave up 4 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings of work to take the lost in the 5th and final game of the series. He finishes the post season 3-1 with a 2.10 ERA. Player of the game was season 15 free agent Jimmy Taylor with 3 runs batted in.

American League Championship Series

#2 St. Louis Cardinals over #4 Toronto Blue Jays 4-2

Toronto was in front 6-0 after 2 innings when the Cardinals scored its first run in the bottom of the 3rd inning. St. Louis was down 5-6 in the bottom of the 9th when pinch hitter Cliff Maxwell smacked a 3-run walk-off homer to win the game and send the Cardinals to the World Series.

National League Championship Series

#5 San Diego Padres swept #2 Florida Marlins 4-0

Florida committed 3 errors and gave up 2 unearned runs in the 3-2 lost in the 4th and final game of the series.
