JGARRON'S PREVIEW: While the National League West continues to become stronger, the Padres are hoping to win their 10th straight divisional title.In previous years they have been a lock to run away with the division, but this year it looks like the competition will be stiff. The Padres will rely on an experienced group of players in their prime to help them in their quest.The formula remains the same, a quick, good fielding team that produces timely hits and a crafty veteran pitching staff. All time saves leader Skeeter Brown at 40 years old has returned for another season as the Padres closer.Padres did not make to many this season, bringing in free agent Pascual Polonia (brought into to provide a solid backup glove),Rule 5er Albert Meluskey (as fantastic baserunner off the bench) and Charlie Murray (longtime Padre bullpen fixture who returns after a stint with the Mets).The fans are all demanding to see Asdrubal Pelaez at some point this year, but management has made it clear that he will continue to be brought along slowly.It cannot be denied that the Padres are a well run organization, but it also cannot be ignored that 11 playoff appearances have only produced one trip to the World Series, a trip that ended in defeat.
PREVIEW: The Padres did win their division but they did not win it all. Still it was a good regular season for jgarron. In the playoffs the Padres swept Atlanta in the first round . Then they in turn were swept by the Reds in the second round. In the offseason 4 players and their 14 million in contracts went to free agency. jgarron hired back 1 at a discount(Skeeter "Shotgun" Brown). To fill in the gaps jgarron signed 2 players to free agent contracts. then grabbed a player in the R-5 draft. This is still the same Padres as last season with a few tweaks. They will compete for their 10th consecutive division title. and be in the playoffs. Those are a given. Can they win the Series ??? Not Sure, but they have a good chance. It may take a little luck of course.PREDICTION:94-68

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:81-81 Most of the players gone are late season call ups during roster expansion. Tooth has some talent in AAA/AA he may call up later .For example: Ryan Hernandez. This team is young and still debeloping. Give them some time to develop and they may shock the world.

PREVIEW: Toothdocs Mariners finished a little better than I predicted. With the early season callups of Tommy Duckworth and Yogi Wilhelm .They came within 4 games of making the playoffs .In the offseason toothdoc let Bolick and Aguilar go to free agency. And as of now, the Mariners have 2 slots left to fill on the M L squad. With some talent in the Minors and 13 million in cap space Toothdoc has alot of flexability in completing this team. This team will improve on their record and fight for the division crown. they should at least win a Wild Card. PREDICTION:90-72

PREVIEW: The Rockies finished 6 games below my prediction . It still is a franchise record for most wins in a season. Axtell has brought a winning attitude to this Colorado club. So in the offseason he let Jiminez go to free agency. Then he released Martin , Mercedes and waived Tito. To fill the holes Axtell signed free agent West and Spahn spending 8 million. With the addition of West will strengthen the bullpen .And the addition of Spahn helped the offense but weakend the defense. This team will make it a 3 game race in the tough N L West. This team could be a Sleeper pick If they continue to improve. PREDICTION:86-76

LAST YEARS PREDICTION:75-87 At last years roster expansions babdor called up 2 future superstars Vince Garcia, Mark Pence . They will improve this team greatly. But it may take a few more years until more talent is brought up before this team takes off. For now at least they will be out of the cellar.

PREVIEW: The Diamondbacks barely finished above the cellar dwellar Mets.Yoker70 takes over this up and coming club after the previous owner bolted . This was mainly due to the Seige of the Arizona club house by a group of disgruntled season ticket holders. They were armed with pitchforks,clubs and naked pictures of Oprah. Babdor was last seen running away and yelling THE HORROR..... THE HORROR!! In the offseason Yoker let Belle and Oliver go to free agency then he released 4 underachievers. He traded away Weathers and recieved Osik and Yamamoto from Toronto.Yoker signed free agents Sosa,Ellenwood ,Curtis and promoted Martin. Finally he picked up Clark in theR-5. Yoker took over a young and talented team that I thought was getting better.This team should at least hit .500 or better. Or I may break out my pitchfork and Fat Chick Photos. PREDICTION:81-81
