LAST YEARS RECORD:81-81
LAST YEARS PREDICTION:90-72 Lefty and his Pirates had a down year. They finished 16 games below my prediction. I guess the Pillagers get Pillaged every now and then.Last season Lefty promoted Jamie Kensing before the all-star break. So now the Pirates have a talented group of youngsters . Will they play like seasoned veterans. Who Knows?? It may take some great coaching. But they are a dangerous bunch. I think this team wins the Division.
OUT: Joel Hardy , Andruw Thome , Victor Duran
IN: Clint Hudson , Graham Rhodes , Al Lopez
PREVIEW: The Pirates are a rough bunch and Lefty knows this. The Pirates did however win the division with a .500 record. They Pillaged the Tigers in the first round of the playoffs and Plundered the #1 seeded Marlins in the second round. Finally in the N L championship the Pirates were sunk by the Champs in 6 games. With the success in the playoffs Lefty went into the offseason with a great attitude. He let Hardy go to free agency and released Thome and Duran. Lefty decided to Promote Hudson and Rhodes and picked up Lopez in the R-5 draft to fill the holes. The Pirates have a formidable pitching staff and a average hitting club. They are also pretty young and will play that way. This could be an up year and may get back to the Series. I'm sure they would like to win another. PREDICTION:91-71

LAST YEARS RECORD:67-95
LAST YEARS PREDICTION:81-81 This team showed me!! They not only woke up . The Phillies won the division and beat my prediction by 19 games. They lost in the first round to the eventual World Champs.Dennis is never shy about spending cash on players he likes. And now that he is back on the top of the division. He spent a small fortune on free agents to keep the Phillies there. Time will tell if the money was spent Right.
OUT: Tom Reed , Orlando Alvarez , Theodore Joyner , Spud Conway
IN: Cristobal Molina , Pablo Gil
PREVIEW: Money couldn't save the Phillies last season. Dennisdee's boys took the money and are still running. The Phillies were below average in hitting (.261) and hit only 174 homers. Couple that with 124 errors and bad pitching (4.95 ERA,1.49 Whip). And you can see why I think they make too much money. In the offseason Dennis let Reed,Alvarez and Joyner go to free agency but he did re-sign Vin Rojas. Then he released The Spudster to complete the roster cuts. Dennis doesn't mind paying for talent but his talent let him down . Could this be a up year? They should be helped playing in one of the weaker divisions. So I think they will be allright. PREDICTION:84-78

LAST YEARS RECORD:65-97
LAST YEARS PREDICTION:62-100 Poor Walsh. he just can't seem to catch a break. He missed winning the division by a game. This was the 5th year the Broncos had a 80+ win season and missed the playoffs .The Rochester Broncos got taken to the cleaners in the trades with Baltimore. Too bad ...the young studs they gave up would have improved this squad.
OUT: Vic Parker ,Ellie Young , Dave Richardson , Gerald Guerrero , A.J. Brown
IN: Steve Thurston , Julian Alvarez , Onan Park , Darren Gray
PREVIEW: Last year was a great disapointment to Walsh after his 100 million dollar team of under-achievers finished with 97 loses. He sold out to coinguy for a set of Texas Rangers World Series Commemorative Coins. Walsh did stock the minors while he was here, picking up many players in draft. Marv Simms and Johnny Scutaro were the most noteable. In the offseason Parker,Young Richardson and Guerrero left for free agency. And Brown was waived a couple of days ago. Then Coinguy started throwing money around and it was Big Big Bills. He signed Free agents Thurston (2.5 mil),Alvarez (9.6 mil),Park (30 mil) and Gray (970K). Gray feels disrespected now. Grayplaya@ tweeted: Wheres my Coin, Coinguy?#McCabe Mag. The Broncos have a very good pitching staff but their hitting is below average. And hiring a AA hitting coach for the bigs isn't gonna help them. But this team has improved with the high dollar signings. PREDICTION:78-84

LAST YEARS RECORD:56-106
LAST YEARS PREDICTION:62-100 Out with Russillini and in with pete775. Pete comes to McCabe after a brief stint as Dance coordinator for Chaz Bono. Pete said he left because Bono is a Dick...... Uhh .....Yeah! Pete takes over a team with a troubled past. The Mets have only sniffed the postseason once as a wild card. With 2 picks in the top 20 and several comp picks. the Mets will be looking to add some talent in the minors. Pete also has 20 million in cap space so he has flexability. This team is in a rebuild mode and may look for the #1 pick next year.
OUT: Gail Service , Chick Shaw , Felipe Padilla , Ellie Nelson
IN: Gary Roundtree , Jose Trajano , J.T. Post , Mendy Peterson , Alfredo Flores
PREVIEW: Pete and his Mets won........er.......lost to win the #1 pick in this years draft. Kinda like the real mets,Huh! It was forecast that Pete was riding out this season and rebuilding the farm system. He picked up Shawn Bunch, Erick Hardy , Iago Sheldon and Craig Rudolph in the first round of the draft. In the offseason Pete let Service and Shaw head to the free agent market. Then he released Padilla and Nelson outright. To plug the holes he claimed Roundtree off the wire and re-signed minor leaguer Trajano. In the R-5 draft Pete picked up Post,Peterson and Flores to complete the roster. This is a classic out of the book rebuild. He filled the roster with R-5's and a waiver claim. It will be another 100 loss season for the Mets. But they will pick up some very tasty prospects.PREDICTION 60-100
